- Within this meeting, we can discuss the concerns you or your child are having, identify the area you would like support in, and conclude the best outcome moving forward
Onward support may involve
- Individual sessions for the young person or child on a weekly basis
- Ongoing meetings with caregivers and parents to review overall development and discuss endings and breaks for the sessions
- Art Therapy provides a safe therapeutic space. What is shared within the space is confidential- Unless the young person has asked for the information to be shared with you
- The images created within the sessions with the same confidentially as spoken words, they will be safely locked away throughout my time with the young person. Once the sessions are finished the young person is invited to decide what they would like to do with the art work
- If there is information disclosed which is of a safeguarding nature, relating to either the young child, or a vulnerable person, I will share my concerns with you. I have a duty to share these concerns with other professionals following the guidelines of my registration.
As A Parent or Carer What Information Should I Know About Art Therapy
For Small Groups

What Groups offer clients
- Supports social engagement
- Improves confidence
- Can improve academic performance and lesson involvement
How groups can support individual development
- Group sessions offer many therapeutic outcomes which can lead to increased engagement in life. Being a group member can offer the participant to experience renewed hope from the realisation that we are not alone in our difficulties. Group sessions are supportive for students who may be struggling with anxiety, bullying and interacting with others. Being a group member is a challenge to most people especially younger people. Conditions and boundaries will be defined at the outset, as respect and safety are very important. The experience of sharing each other’s emotions and thoughts, within a committed group, can be of huge value for personal development and the growth of understanding. Group therapy participation has been known to improve academic attainment and individual performance for the student involved(Mina Fazel,et all., 2015).
